“This significant milestone is a testimony to PROK’s unwavering commitment to faith, service, and witness over the past seven decades,” wrote Pillay. “As you commemorate this remarkable anniversary, let us reflect on the incredible journey of the PROK and the profound impact it has had within Korea and beyond.”

Pillay added that the Presbyterian Church in the Republic of Korea has been a shining light and a prophetic voice, fearlessly challenging oppression and advocating for democratization and human rights.

“We rejoice in the PROK’s continued mission of spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ, affirming life in its fullness, and advancing God’s mission of justice and peace,” Pillay wrote. “The World Council of Churches stands in solidarity with the PROK, and we are inspired by your commitment to the Pilgrimage of Justice, Reconciliation, and Unity.”
