Late-night talk show host Stephen Colbert, a Roman Catholic, revealed that a Bible verse from Matthew changed his life as a young man.
During his appearance in "Oprah," he was asked by the host what is his take about people saying "today is the age of fear."
Colbert said that Matthew Bible verse about not worrying for tomorrow helped him when he was young.
"So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today." -Matthew 6:25-34.
"I understood the phrase 'It spoke to me,'" Stephen says, thinking back on that day. "Because I wasn't reading it; it just spoke off the page. And the words of Christ are that for me. The words of Christ speak off the page. There's no effort for me to read them."
