The first ever Beijing International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition for Young Pianists is going to start this month with a grand finale in Beijing.

The application period of the event is now on its final stages and the final selection of those who will compete in the finals on October will be done on August 15 to 16. The competition will follow the Polish version of the competition with a distinguished list of jury members, 11 of them being world-class piano masters recommended by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute. These masters and the rest of the jury commitee will be giving out advice to the participants and the audiences which is a rare opportunity due to their calibre and fame.

The competition is organized by the Chinese Central Conservatory of Music - which would also be the location of the finale -, Beijing 21st Century China-Poland Art and Culture Exchange Center and the Fyderyk Chopin Institute.

The event is also a part of the Chinese-Polish cultural cooperation agreement which was just signed this year.
