Churches in three districts of Shanghai resumed their in-person services after the COVID-19 restrictions eased.
Following the guidelines of the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Ethnic and Religious Affairs, many Shanghai churches reopened on July 3, Sunday, requiring churchgoers to register, scan the venue codes, and have their temperature taken with masks, Shanghai CC&TSPM said.
Before reopening, in addition to disinfecting the sites, churches implemented various measures, including posting venue codes, setting digital sentinel, preparing epidemic prevention materials, conducting training and drills for church staff, and setting requirements for entering churches on official WeChat accounts and at the entrance.
These churches are Lin’en Church in Shihua Street, Jesus Church in Tinglin Town, Jesus Church in Zhujing Town, Immortal Church in Fengjing Town, Jesus Church in Zhangyan Town in Jinshan District, Jesus Church in Nanqiao Town of Fengxian District, Master Chong Tong, Baozhen Church, and Gangxi Church in Chongming District.
Two places in Shanghai were upgraded to high-risk areas, which was decided by Shanghai Command Center for COVID-19 Control and Prevention on July 6.
