A church in Yiwu, China’s southeastern coastal Zhejiang Province, obtained the Internet religious information service license, making it the first church to obtain this type of license in the whole Zhejiang province.
Since the Administrative Measures for Internet Religious Information Services was released on December 3 by the State Administration for Religious Affairs, the New Grace Church in Yiwu commended two pastors as information auditors who attended the online theoretical study and passed the ability test, the church said.
It completed the application for the license on March 28 on Zhejiang Provincial Government Affairs Service Network, obtaining the approval and license on April 18.
As the central church in Yiwu where the city CC&TSPM is directly in charge of, with the license, it can carry out online religious activities within the scope permitted by laws and regulations.
Recently, with the support from the united front work department, the church has become an important window to show the Sinicization of Christianity. “With the opportunity of receiving the license, the church will strictly manage the carrier of Internet religious information service to do a good job of the online service.”
