Many churches in Yichun City, Jiangxi Province, donated money and food to help prevent the spread of virus.
Besides cooperating with the local government to prevent and control the epidemic, a church in Zhangshu City, Yinchun, on April 11 donated 20,000 yuan to the Shanghai Red Cross to help curb the outbreak in Shanghai, Yinchun CC&TSPM said.
In response to the call of the local united front work department and the Fengcheng Municipal Ethnic and Religious Affairs Bureau, staff of Gospel Church in Fengcheng on March 25 bought 2,000 yuan worth of fruits, cakes, biscuits and beverages for four communities in Jiannan Street Office.
On the same day, Xie Hubao, head of Quangang Church in Fengcheng donated 2,000 yuan in cash to Quangang Community, and Huang Xingfa, head of Xincheng District Church provided 2,000 yuan in cash to the front-line cadres and masses in Wen’an Community.
The next day, Pastor Wan Yanhong, leader of Fengkuang Church, arranged for church staff to deliver fruits, biscuits and drinks to cadres and volunteers in Shangtang Town and Jianbei community.
Just on that day, Huang Xuehong, head of Gengshan Church in the Tuochuan Township, led staff members to donate 2,000 yuan in cash to the village committee where they belonged.
On March 17, Elder Xu Caichang, honorary chairman of the Yuanzhou District CC&TSPM, and Secretary Liu from Shetai Village visited COVID-19 workers at the checkpoint at the exit of Shanghai-Kunming Expressway, bringing food worth a total of 1,000 yuan.
On March 31, Lu Anlin, leader of Ruizhou Church in Gao'an City, Yichun, donated 5,000 yuan in cash to the Fengyi Community Neighborhood Committee.
On April 3, Elder Wang Yuzhen of Grace Church in Yangxu Town, Gao'an City, supplied 3,000 yuan in cash to Yangxu Town Government to help fight the epidemic.
