A Zhejiang church carried out anti-cult campaigns "in order to help believers improve their spiritual life and adhere to the pure truth".
Jiaojiang Church opened its patriotism education base during the Spring Festival, conducting anti-cult admonitory education, revolutionary tradition education, and popularizing-law education. As of February 28, the base had received more than 860 visitors, including the elderly and young, according to the church.
In recent years, its anti-cult propaganda team often goes into communities and mountainous areas to disseminate anti-cult knowledge to the citizens, which has been featured on TV and in newspapers.
Recently, Kong Ge of Jiaojiang Church in Taizhou City and Ye Weibing, the propagandist in the anti-cult association of the church, came to Pantou Church in Yueqing City to attend the spring retreat. They preached sermons titled "Happy New Year", "Insist on Gathering With Gratitude", and "Christ and His Ministry", exhorting church members to understand the truth, share the gospel, and integrate into society. They were also encouraged to "uphold the pure truth, advocate science, resist heresy, and oppose cults".
In this retreat, the team presented popular musical performances, such as a program played in an allegro tempo named "Advocating Science and Opposing Cults", distributing anti-cult flyers.
"We should make full use of the propaganda team as the first line of defense against cults in the society. After the anti-cult movements, such as propaganda events and exchange activities, the broad masses of the people may get a deeper understanding of the true nature of cults organizations deceiving and harming people, laying a good foundation for a safe society building," Kong said.
