Four staff workers were appointed as deacons in a Guangdong church.
On October 17 in He’nan Church in Guangzhou City, a retired pastor and a lecturer from a local seminary were invited to ordain four volunteers from the church council, who have served in the church for more than ten years.
This is the sixth batch of deacons appointed in the church since its reopening in 1981. The church said that the ordination of a deacon, who serves as a volunteer in the church, was the inheritance of Christians' spirit of service.
Built in 1895, the church renamed as He’nan Church later was included in the list of cultural relics protection sites in Guangzhou at the end of 2008.
