A Liaoning church was renovated during the temporary period of closure in August.
During the “double suspension” in August, which refers to suspending the opening of places of worship and religious activities, the leaders of Xifo Church in Tai’an County, China's northeastern Liaoning Province, decided to make use of this opportunity to do maintenance on the whole church building.
The renovation involved the painting of the floor of the church’s small square and of the exterior which presents a Gothic architectural style, the maintenance of the sanctuary and office area, the roof replacement of the sanctuary and auxiliary hall, the ground laying of the courtyard, and the maintenance and painting of the fence.
When the renovation was completed, the pandemic situation in Liaoning had just been brought under control, with activities in religious sites resumed. The church would hold the upcoming in-person gatherings with a new image.
Approved to be established on July 12, 2001, Xifo Church in Tai'an County, Liaoning Province was originally a place for family activities. The church covers an area of 1,125 square meters (0.27 acres) with a floor area of 485 square meters (0.11 acres).
