A church in Guangdong announced its suspension of in-person services due to COVID-19 rebounds.
Guangxiao Church in Guangzhou issued a notice on May 28 to implement the measures of “double suspension” (closing religious activity sites and suspending religious group activities) till further notice, in accordance with the government’s pandemic prevention and control measures.
It said, “During the ‘double suspension’ period, the church will release ministry information through its WeChat group chat and its official WeChat account (Guangzhou Guangxiao Church), which believers can follow and transmit. Besides reading the Bible, Christians can pray at home for the country and the people.”
They also advised church members to keep social distance, reduce travels, huddles and gatherings, especially dinner parties.
