The Pure Heart Church in Shanghai held a music worship service on Christmas Eve.
Before the churchgoers entered the sanctuary, they had to have their health codes checked and their advance reservations confirmed.
Before the service began, the host led the congregation in singing the hymns, O Come, All ye Faithful and Joy to the World.
The choir sang six carols, namely Oh Holy Night, He Keeps Me Singing, It is Well with My Soul, Celebrate Christmas, Why do I Sing about Jesus, and Wonderful Peace of God. Later, based on Luke 2:8-10, Rev. Yu Xuezhong gave a sermon on the theme of Peace to Men on Whom His Favor Rests. He shared that the peace of God would come to those who were willing to repent and turn to God.
Finally, the choir sang these carols again, Celebrate Christmas, Why do I Sing about Jesus, and Wonderful Peace of God. When the event ended, the familiar melody Happy Birthday to You sounded, but the lead singer changed "Happy Birthday to You" to "Merry Christmas" to celebrate the Lord's birthday.
