From Nov 27-30, Shandong Provincial CCC&TSPM hosted "the First Training Class for Pastors' Wives of Shandong Provincial CCC&TSPM," and 39 wives of pastors attended the training from 17 cities in Shandong. This training class for wives of pastors was the very first in the history of Shandong churches. Teacher Feng Shuxian, guest professor of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary, and her assistant teacher Li Moran, shared the course "Pastors' wives, Prepare to be their helper."
According to the WeChat (Chinese social media) of Shandong Provincial CCC&TSPM, Pastor Xia Lingjun, vice chairman of Shandong Christian Council and director of Church education and family work special committee, gave a speech. She pointed out that "the duty and pastoring of pastors' wives" was a pioneering attempt of the special committee for carrying out targeted pastoring ministry in "Church education and family work special committee". Due to the limitations of the current ministry of the church, this ministry has always been neglected.
The training class for pastors' wives could be said to be the innovation to the spiritual pastoring of pastors' wives in Shandong churches. Pastor Xia emphasized that in the future ministry of the special committee, they will focus more on the problems in the families, faith, and serving of the church pastors. The special committee would carry out training widely, systematically, and with targets from the perspective of the pastoring ministry of the churches within the province. They would also strive to find new perspectives and ways of "faith and life" from the family ministry perspective.
