On Friday, the Kaifenglu Church held a Bible-verse recitation competition for its senior parishioners in order to encourage them to read God's word and easily memorize Bible verses.
Each contestant would be asked to read a selection of verses from both the Old and New Testament without making a single mistake. Their recitation would be judged by pastors, elders, seminary students and the Church administration and determine which one has done the best recitation.
Six contestants won prizes from the 32 who participated for the event with the rest were given consolation prizes. The eldest participant was around 80 years old.
One of the elders spoke in the contest and inspired the choir to seek more of God's word and become inspired by these words.
Aside from the contest, the Church also invited 20 persons with disability to join in their service and send them gifts with blessings for the celebration of the 26th National Day of Assisting Disabled Persons on May 15.
