Since the lastest coronavirus outbreak in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, the faith-based Amity Foundation has joined hands with social caring enterprises and groups, providing material assistance to front-line medical staff in epidemic prevention and control in various forms.

Nanjing, the provincial capital, which has reported 314 locally transmitted confirmed cases since July 20 according to Jiangsu Commission of Health, has closed all citywide Three-Self churches to prevent the spread of the virus.

From the 21st of July, the Amity Foundation, together with others enterprises and social caring groups, launched a project called "Helping Front-line Personnel of Nucleic Acid Testing with Meals". By July 30, the project had provided a total of 4,986 meals to the front-line medical staff at 14 nucleic acid testing sites.

Local milk companies and more than 100 coffee shops have also donated 1,000 cups of coffee to the healthcare workers in many local hospitals through the foundation.

From July 29 to 30, Amity provided surgical masks, protective clothing, water-free hand sanitizer gel, and medical examination gloves to local streets and disease inspection and testing centers.

On July 30, a group of fans donated drinks, fast food noodles, and antibacterial hand sanitizers through the Foundation to Hongshan Street in Xuanwu District, Nanjing, for the front-liners fighting the virus.

Amity Foundation, an independent Chinese social development organization, was founded in 1985, on the initiative of Chinese Christians to promote education, social service, health, community development, and civil society building to people from China's coastal provinces in the east to the minority areas of the west.
