On Saturday, the Hunan sports bureau announced that Changsha will be hosting the next three seasons of the FIBA 3X3 Asia Cup from 2019 to 2021.
At least 24 top teams, 12 in men's and women's event each, from Asia and Oceania will be coming to Changsha in May next year for the fourth edition of the Cup.
Last May, the games were held in Shenzhen and it is Australia who took over the men's event while New Zealand continued to dominate in the women's event.
Men's and women's 3x3 basketball is included in the 16 new events that were added to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics games lineup announced in June 2017 by the International Olympics Committee. China won in the events' debut during the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games.
