On Saturday, the 12th Zhengzhou (China) International Shaolin Wushu Festival begins in Dengfeng city in Henan province. At least 65 countries and regions took part in the opening ceremony, sending representatives to display their kung-fu prowress.
During the festival, 111 foreign teams and 129 domestic teams will be competing in various kung-fu related events, such as Quanshu, Daoshu, Duilian and others.
At the opening ceremony, martial arts was combined with dance and visual scenery, reflecting Songshan Mountain and Shaolin kung fu.
The festival will end on the 24th of October.
