Born again and bathed in God's grace, Christians also face trials, difficulties and struggles. It is inevitable that we tend to stumble and fall. Considering these challenges, how should we deal with our own weakness and even falling?
Liao Zhi, the Christian celebrity who still dances after lost her legs below the knees in the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, shares her insight on facing struggles in the path of faith.
She states, "Sometimes the reason why God allows us to fall down is that He wants us to learn several things: 1.To see the other side of our weakness, 2. To become more humble, 3. To know how to show solicitude for others better, and 4. To be a better comforter and supporter."
The dancer continued, "When you are weak and fall down, don't feel disappointed because God's grace is sufficient for you. He will give you strength and reshape you. When you stand up again, strengthen those who stumble with love rather than be proud. Be a comforter rather than a judge as Jesus prayed for Simon, 'But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.'"
In response to her sharing, some Christian netizens commented, "Weakness will turn into strength", "Bottoms make people more humble and depend more on him" and "For he wounds, but he also binds up; he injures, but his hands also heal. Job 5:18 NIV" etc.
Liao has moved many people with her inspiring testimony. Losing both her legs and daughter and divorced from her ex-husband, she experienced God in the 2008 Wenchuan Earthquake and stood up again by dependence on God. She has reappeared on the stage and danced the dance of life. What's more, she's married to a Christian and recently had a baby girl.
