HK Former Financial Secretary Antony Leung Kam-chung has been regarded as one of the favorites to be elected as Hong Kong's next chief executive. In a recent interview, he said that his life purpose is "to honor God, be beneficial to people who try to work with their own strength, to help others, and the ultimate goal is to glorify God."
According to Sing Tao Daily on August 31th, Antony Leung Kam-chung became a Christian 8 years ago, and now he is 63 years old. He said that looking back at his life "Without anything important that can change the life is my own plan...many times opportunities are coming out and the people who believe in God will say that it is God's arrangement. Some things, God wants you do, even if you don't want to and you cannot escape this."
He said that his life purpose is to "honor God, be beneficial to people trying to work with their own strength, to help others, and the ultimate goal is to glorify God."
Facing the current social disputes in Hong Kong, Mr Leung said, both sides hold the "philosophy of struggle." With the current events, it is either you win or I lose. He said, "With what the government is doing, it should probably learn more humility. And ordinary people such as us, we should understand because the government does not easily do so." He often prays for Hong Kong that it may be more loving and have more mutual understanding, respect and I hope to use reason to solve the problem.
The Former financial secretary of Hong Kong has taken official leave for more than 10 years. He laughs that he has no officers, that he is fearless, he has no money or power. But the biggest concern is the education of young people.
The Occupy Movement pushed the youth's problem in the society, Antony Leung Kam-chung said, in his eyes, this generation of young people isgeneral good. The lowest layer is the satisfaction of substance, followed by a sense of security and love. The next layer is of self-esteem and self-fulfillment is the highest layer. He said, "Today's young people don't need to think about the first layer,since they can depend on their parents. They don't need to think about the second layer because it depends on the government. Naturally they think of the higher layers and we should understand and respect that they have such a need.
Mr Leung, a former financial secretary of the Hong Kong, the executive council member of Hong Kong, The chairman of educational co-ordinating committee etc., the Christian and famous driver Mingxia Fu who is the current wife of the chief executive of Nan fung group. The couple had witness their belief for the first time in a testimony concert of Hongkong God songs.
