Talking about the Miao people, a lot of Christians think of Pastor Samuel Pollard of the China Inland Mission or Xiaoshuijing Miao Farmers Choir of Yunnan. In the early 1990s, some Miao Christians who couldn't have enough food migrated from Guizhou to Ji'an, Jiangxi for a living. Meanwhile, the sound of heaven was also brought here.
Arriving at Ji'an, the Miao Christians contacted the local church, who began to visit and assist the ethnic minority. The church has provided educational assistance to them for several years.
During the 2016 Chinese National Day holiday, the co-workers of the Ji'an Gospel Church visited five Miao gathering places, distributing student grants to them for this new semester. The Miao believers expressed their thanks and gratitude to God through their beautiful voices.
At Huqiu gathering center where the light is dim, clapping their hands, the Miao children sang the hymn 'Thank You Jesus' in Miao language and Chinese at a yard in front of the house.
The adults of the Miao choir presented a quartet whose lyric goes like this, "With what shall I come before the Lord and bow down before the exalted God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings? Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousand rivers of oil? ...To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." (Micah 6:6-8)
Compared to the average praising level in most churches, their praising is really impressive. Receiving praises for the perfect performance, the head of the choir said, "I am uneducated. I have to say that this is given by God."
At another gathering place of the Miao, the minority believers welcomed the coming of the church staff and a sister who guides the choir led all the members to praise God together. Praise ran through the whole gathering in which the praise followed the sermon and after the sermon, the congregation praised the Lord again.
