Huangpu District’s CC&TSPM in Shanghai and the East China Theological Seminary signed an agreement to continue promoting the practice of sinicization of Christianity in 2024, according to the CCC&TSPM’s "Outline of the Five-Year Work Plan for Further Advancing the Sinicization of Christianity (2023-2027)."

The East China Theological Seminary said on January 19, the seminary initiated the “Seminar on Sinicization of Christianity” in collaboration with Huangpu District’s CC&TSPM in May 2023. The district's CC&TSPM held the "Preaching in Shanghai" forum from June to December of the same year. Focusing on the theme “Be Patriotic and Faithful, Then Promising,” lecturers on the forum discussed the "Sinicized Elaboration on Religious Doctrines in China."

The leaders of the Huangpu District Ethnic and Religious Affairs Bureau said that this agreement will assist the Huangpu District Christian community in improving group construction, nurturing talents, and resisting heretic infiltration.
