Hong Kong Anglican Church Theological Consultant Visits China

CCC&TSPM received Rev. Philip L. Wickeri, a well-known scholar in the history of Christianity in China who serves as a consultant in theology and historical research for Andrew Chan, archbishop of Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui.

Rev. Shen Xuebin, residential vice president of the China Christian Council (CCC), received Rev. Wickeri at the station of CCC&TSPM on June 12th, according to CCC&TSPM.

Rev. Shen welcomed Rev. Philip's visit, and both parties engaged in discussions regarding the theological development of the Chinese church and the academic research achievements in the Chinese academic community. Rev. Shen invited the delegation of the Hong Kong Anglican Church, believing that further cooperation between the two sides could promote theological development and the healthy growth of the church.

Rev. Philip L. Wickeri expressed his delight in playing an active role in fostering friendly exchanges between the Mainland China and Hong Kong churches. He looked forward to continuing the relationship between the two sides and further strengthening their communication and cooperation. He also mentioned that in recent years, he has been involved in and gained insights into numerous research achievements concerning the sinicization of Christianity in the Chinese Church and the Chinese academic community. He eagerly anticipated further enhancement of the international influence of the Chinese church.
