Hubei Seminary Holds Lecture on Localization of Christian Art

 A seminar on the localization of Christian art was conducted at Zhongnan Theological Seminary, located in Central China’s Hubei Province.

From June 7 to 8, Rev. Su Xile of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary was invited as a guest speaker to deliver a lecture titled "Etiquette, Aesthetics, and Sinicization of Christian Art," according to CCC&TSPM. Second- and third-year students from the seminary attended.

Rev. Su expounded on the sinicization of Christian art from an aesthetic perspective, combined with different festivals of the church. The range of topics covered included the history of Christian art, the aesthetic differences between China and the West, symbolic patterns and color matching of church festivals, the interior layout of churches, the architectural style of churches, as well as Christian poetry, calligraphy, and painting art.
