CCC&TSPM held an online meeting with the World Federation of Chinese Methodist Churches.
In the meeting held last Thursday, the two sides conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on adhering to the direction of Sinicization of Christianity, and dialogue between the Bible and Chinese classics, according to CCC&TSM.
In his speech, Rev. Lam Chun, Tim, chairman of the federation, introduced that the purpose of the federation was to promote the connection and mutual care of the Chinese Methodist Churches, to plan cooperative ministries, to explore and coordinate mission resources and personnel exchanges, and promote cooperation with other Christian churches. Although the coronavirus pandemic kept them from meeting with each other, he said that he hoped to further understand the content of the Sinicization of Christianity through video conferencing and promote opportunities for cooperation.
Rev. Chen Yilu, deputy president of CCC and executive deputy president of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary, and Rev. Pan Xingwang, deputy chairman of TSPM and president of Zhejiang Theological Seminary, introduced the Sinicization of Christianity in the theological education ministry among Chinese churches and in the gospel ministry of the grassroots churches in China.
Rev. Shen Xuebin, deputy president of CCC, said that all of them cherished the opportunity to "get together" via video chat, hoping that both parties would maintain these friendly exchanges and look for more opportunities for cooperation under the same Chinese cultural background and common beliefs.
