The Ethnic and Religious Affairs Bureau of Daye City in Hubei Province promoted the “Smart Code” for managing all places for religious events within the city.
According to the principles of “One Temple, One Book” and “One Person, One File,” the “Smart Code” aims to collect digital files of venues for religious activities and related staff workers, said China's State Administration for Religious Affairs.
To ensure the accuracy of the information, the Municipal Ethnic and Religious Affairs Bureau is strict about the collection process. Standards for the shot object, angle, and pixel have been set up prior to the collection. Additionally, specialists should be arranged to shoot via drone and collect the aerial panorama photo for the religious venue and image of the main hall. Other related information, referring to the address of the venue, major building, construction area, history, cultural feature, staff worker(s), and permanent resident(s), should be scheduled to be recorded.
After reviewing all the gathered data, a designated technology company will generate, design, and compile the "Smart Code" of every religious activity site into a book.
