As of June 15, the Amity Foundation has donated 164,400 medical surgical masks, 4,800 medical isolation masks, 1,500 sets of personal protective equipment, and 100 protective kits to the countries of Ethiopia, Kenya, Madagascar, Angola, and Namibia, according to the foundation.

As a 35-year civil organization with influence at home and abroad, the Amity Foundation set up offices in Ethiopia and Kenya in 2015 to serve local needs in the areas of poverty alleviation, education, and health care. After the outbreak in Africa, the Amity Foundation received calls for help from friends in Africa.

In addition to material assistance, Amity together with other Chinese social organizations, has worked with organizations in Ethiopia and South Africa to organize the "Online Sharing communication of Experiences of civil society organizations along the Silk Road Cooperation Network" for these two African countries, and to share China's unique experience in fighting the epidemic with African civil society organizations through online communications.

Qiu Zhonghui, director of the Amity Foundation, said that human beings live in a global village, where they are a community of destiny. The Amity Foundation is willing to work with the motherland, integrating their own years of international practical experience and various types of resources.

On the evening of June 17, a special summit on China-Africa solidarity against the epidemic was held in Beijing. The summit was initiated by the countries of South Africa and Senegal, which co-chair the Forum on China-African Cooperation of the African Union, according to CCTV news reports.
