Tao Fong Literary Prize Awards to Shandong University Professor

A professor of Hebrew Bible studies has received a prize medal of "the Seventh Tao Fong Literary Prize (2020): The Paul Hsu Prize".

Professor Archie C. C. Lee with a doctorate in philosophy from Edinburgh University gave his acceptance speech at the award ceremony of the Seventh Tao Fong Literary Prize (2020) which has been awarded every five to eight years for the outstanding academic work or translation work in Sino-Christian studies since 1999 on November 19. 

According to the Institute of Sino-Christian Studies in Hong Kong who established the prize, the former professor of the Hebrew Bible at the Chinese University of Hong Kong delivered a lecture titled "Ethnic Memory in Historical Poetry: A Cross-Textual Reading of Hebrew Psalms and Chinese Shijing". Serving as the first-class full professor at Shandong University, Prof. Lee said, "This is not only my personal honour, but more importantly, it is an encouragement for efforts in the relevant academic fields, which aim to develop effective means to cultivate research in Christianity and Chinese culture, particularly in the concurrent reading of the Bible and Chinese classics of ancient and modern eras."

His work includes Cross-Textual Reading of the Hebrew Bible.

Professor Zhang Butian, professor in the department of the history of science of Tsinghua University, was the winner of the Karl L. Reichelt Prize for his Chinese translation of Peter Harrison, the Bible, Protestantism, and the Rise of Natural Science
