A church in Hubei held a charity event of providing food to poor believers and unbelievers in late January.

In Thanksgiving Church, Wuhan, on January 20, Rev. Duan Yanmei, gave a talk titled "Release Your Hand to the Poor", citing Deuteronomy 10:17-19 and 15:7-8. She shared about the principle of pitying the poor from the biblical perspective, encouraging participants to be the transmitters of love, Hubei CC&TSPM reported.

Jin Xing, deputy director of Sandao Street Office, thanked the church for donating a large number of pandemic prevention supplies and daily necessities for the people during the pandemic.

The charity event of “Caring For Neighbors” was aimed at the poor households in the community and the poor believers in the church, some of whom are blind. To 79 recipients, they presented each with a pot of cooking oil, a bag of rice, and a box of eggs.

The church is not only the directly affiliated church to Hubei CC&TSPM but also the practice church of Zhong Nan Theological Seminary. It is used by the students for morning and evening spiritual practices, Sunday services, and fellowship services. In less than ten years, the number of believers has grown from several to nearly 2,000 currently, with the Sunday service increasing from one to five sessions.

Concerning the construction of poor churches in Hubei province, the church always uses donations for the construction of churches and the new campus of Zhong Nan Theological Seminary, supporting poor pastors in Hubei.
