Yunnan Theological Seminary held an in-service pastoral training course.

It was the eleventh pastoral training course held from August 31 to September 11, 2020. The trainees were mainly grassroots in-service pastors from all over Yunnan Province.

In addition to teachers from the seminary, they also invited members of the Provincial Ethnic and Religious Committee, university experts and scholars, and the pastors of the provincial CC&TSPM to give lectures, according to the seminary. The lectures were on books of the Bible, religious policies and regulations, church rules and regulations, the Sinicization of Christianity, traditional Chinese culture, and there were seminars on theology.

A total of 85 pastors completed the training. Through this training, the pastors were able to improve their understanding of the Scriptures and their task as pastors. They also benefitted from connecting with pastors from other churches.

The Yunnan Theological Seminary was established in 1989 with the approval of the Yunnan Provincial People's Government. It aims to train young pastors and pastoral staff for churches in Yunnan. Due to the urban construction of Kunming, the seminary built new school buildings, and an inauguration ceremony was held on May 15, 2015, after the buildings and campus were completed.

The students of the seminary are composed of 12 ethnic groups, including Yi, Lisu, Jingpo, Lahu, Wa, Miao, Hani, Dai, Zhuang, Tibetan, Nu, Han, and so on. The seminary has the most ethnic minority students in China.
